Sue and Anne from Plano, Texas
“Thank you for sharing your beautiful property with us. We appreciated the warm welcome, great information and beautiful cabin and gardens. I felt like I woke up in a tree house with the great view from the bedroom – a childhood dream relived. Every window frames a perfect scene of nature. We loved the serenity and peace of our stay. Hope our paths cross again soon.”
Dan and Sheryl from Santa Barbara, California
“We’re sad to leave – we had a great time here. Although most of your mice evaded us, we found a few. I think we enjoyed the squirrel that slides down the roof and your orange/brown slug near the lawn that we were so careful not to step on while walking back from the Jacuzzi we used nightly. Unfortunately we bought too much food so we left you the un-opened hummus and crackers, the margarine, beer and water. I bet this happens a lot. Enjoy or throw away we couldn’t take it on the plane. It was a pleasure meeting all of you.”
Jeff and Kylie from Vancouver, Washington
“This has been such a beautiful and relaxing time at the cabin. Jeff and I will never forget our time here. Between finding mice in the middle of the night to hopping in the hot tub in the morning. We also really appreciate Coni, Stewart, and Terry for making this possible. We’ll be back soon. Thank you.”
Congratulations, you found 4 mice.
Josia and Laura from Eugene, Oregon

Katie and Jared from Portland, Oregon
“Thank you for offering this beautiful cabin. It was a perfect place to get away from town and reality for the first few nights after our wedding. The decorations in the cabin are adorable and cozy. The grounds are beautifully kept. We enjoyed playing fetch with Stewart, such a handsome young man. We loved our time here and look forward to visiting again in the future. We did find all seven mice too, but we didn’t get the chance to have Coni verify it. Oh well, next time.”
Congratulations on finding all seven mice and completing to from puzzle too.

“Thank you so much Coni, Mary and Terry for providing such a marvelous lodging option in these beautiful Oregon Woods. Trey thoroughly enjoyed this birthday surprise and would like to do this again so you will likely see repeat business with us. We apologize for not having remained awake to meet you but we took on a more difficult hike than anticipated for our first one today, 7 mi @ 5800 – 6000 ft. elevations. Thank you again for this marvelous hospitality.“

“Thank you for your hospitality and for sharing this beautiful cabin with our family. We enjoyed relaxing here, going on nearby kikes, walking down to the river and playing with Stewart – he’s so cute. Searching for the mice paintings together was also very fun. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay.”
Kris and Robin from Forest Grove, Oregon
“Thank you for another wonderful weekend, third year in a row. We had quite an adventure Saturday, while poking around Sandy, we discovered Jonsrude Overlook, what a view. Then Saturday we were blessed with clear skies, a first for us, so we went to Mt. Hood Meadows – you have the maps here - for a short hike. The Meadows was closed, so no chair lifts but Umbrella Falls was so easy to walk to and stunning. Lots of pics of Mt. Hood from there. You have provided the best place for anyone to go on a day trips and fill their Facebook Albums. Even your own flower garden is a visual delight. Thank you again for a perfect weekend getaway spot. Eat at the Ivy Bear.”
Todd and Sheli from Portland, Oregon
“What a wonderful place to spend our 15th wedding anniversary. We loved it so much we never left the cabin our entire stay. All hosts, human and 4-legged are super awesome. We will hope to come back again and again – besides the 7th mouse is on our bucket list. This place and folks are the total package. We did not do the breakfast but I’m sure it will blow our minds nest time. Thanks so much for a lovely, lazy, sleepy dreamy, perfect time. P.S. The AC was hugely appreciated; it was 100 deg. Especially, since my personal thermostat is broken.”
Tim and Jocelyn from Seattle, Washington
"We love your cabin. Thank you for letting us experience your little slice of heaven. These last few days of peace, quiet and laughing together was exactly what my busy fiancé and I needed. We don’t want to leave. We will definitely recommend this place to our friends back in Seattle . Thanks again. P.S. Throw an extra ball for Stewart and Holly. They love it."
Matt and Kalle from Portland, Oregon
"Such and amazing, magical place to spend a weekend. We spent the first hour or two searching for mice. Kalle succeeded much faster than I, but eventually (on the second day) I found all seven as well. Had such a lovely time relaxing and cooking, made some sourdough baguettes, waffles, Chinook Salmon and burgers on the grill. Enjoyed popcorn and movies by the fire and soothed our bodies in the hot tub after hiking to Ramona Falls. Will definitely have to come back soon. You have such an amazing gem here and are the best hosts I’ve encountered on my 33 years on earth. Looking forward to the next time we get to spend here."
Dan, Jessie and Kristen from Portland, Oregon
"Thank you so much for our wonderful stay. It has been a magical time. The cabin is welcoming, cozy and perfect for a quiet weekend away. Thank you for your dilligent upkeep and hospitality. Also, we cannot begin to describe the thrill of joy we experienced in finding the 7th mouse. Can't wait to stay again soon."
Pamala and Lisa from Portland, Oregon
"We came up from Portland for my 46th B-Day. It was a wonderful place to spend the weekend, eventhough we were sick. We decided to come back when we both could actually roam the beautiful gardens. Found all mice.
Things we loved - not in order:
2. Hot tub
5. River sounds coming through the window.
6. Hosts with mosts.
Shauna and Jesse from Portland, Oregon
"What a wonderful place! Everthing was so comfortable. We loved all the charming details and the magical gardens. We can't wait to visit again. Next time with our kids. P.S. We found the mice."

Debbie from Hoover, Alabama
“What a beautiful, quaint and cozy place for some mother and daughter time. We want to thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to stay in your “special” cabin. Everything that we could have possible needed was right at our fingertips. The attention to detail was very impressive and we are still looking for the 7th mouse. Oh well, guess that means we have to come back again. We enjoyed our time with Stuart…he’s so well behaved not to mention how cute he is. Wishing you a prosperous and healthy year. We’ll see you next time and hope it won’t be long.”
Terri, Lynn, Becky and Debby from Battle Ground, Washington
“Thank you so much for your heartfelt hospitality during our girlfriend’s stay here. I can so appreciate your labor of love here and your attention to detail. I must say you have inspired me to continue my labor of love at my home in the woods in Battle Ground, Washington. My hubby passed away 3 years ago and we created a sanctuary. Since he passed I have been overwhelmed with the upkeep, but after being here I am inspired to keep at it. I will take your advice and just worry about toady and not worry about tomorrow. Our stay here was a reuniting of 4 workers that met 36 years ago at a dental office. We have remained friends all these years. We hiked little Zig Zag Falls, we enjoyed the hot tub, cooking together, the movies and all the girl giggling that goes with a bunch of women. Thank you so much, you and your sharing is a blessing to all that come.”
Sofi and Steve from Portland, Oregon
This place is absolutely enchanting. We're already pondering when we can make it back next. Thank you so much Coni and Terry for making this such a magical weekend in the woods for us."
Steven and Nicole from Chino Hills, California
“What an amazing cabin. It is going to be hard to leave. Our stay here was amazing, definitely made our first trip to Oregon the best experience. Your hospitality has been enlightening. We have been able to go on some amazing hikes, drive to the snow and visit with many local people. We will definitely be back soon, this place is too beautiful to only come once. Again, thank you for letting us stay in your little piece of heaven. P.S. We will miss Stewart.”
Thomas, Jeannie and Jenna from Portland, Oregon
"We so enjoyed our stay at the Hidden Cabin, so charming. You were delightful hosts. Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven on earth. We will be back soon."
Josh and Savanah from Huntington, Vermont
“It will be difficult to leave this Shangri-La. Myself and Savanah have been on the rood surfing, hiking, working and visiting loved ones for six weeks. We have never sustained a trip this long before and thanks to nourishing stays at special places like this I think we can continue the adventure for a bit longer. I plan to hike Mt. Hood tomorrow if the conditions are right. Today is a beautiful sunny day with high winds. Soon after we will head to Bend, OR to visit a loved one and go snowboarding. Then we’ll be on our way to Colorado and then back to our house in Vermont. We had absolutely loved the thoughtful selection of books and cherished the design and decorations here. Thank you so much for having us.”
Thomas and Rozlyn from Bangor, Maine
“Way to start our 2016 year off. We very much enjoyed this cozy stay. Everything was here that we needed to make a perfect couple of days. Our first night we arrived later than expected due to icy roads, but were received here so kindly and warmly that we instantly felt at home. Our second day we changed our plans to stay a little longer in the cabin and in the afternoon we took a walk down Old Salmon River Trail. Today we are headed to the mountain to find some powder. Thank you for a great and magical couple of days.”
Sorry I didn't get your picture, but if you send one I'll gladly put it in. Terry
Emma and Sarah from San Diego, California
"What a charming, perfect cabin. The details are what make it special and the hospitality is first class."
Dorann and Wanda from Portland, Oregon
“What a beautiful place. You have thought of everything. Thank you for having the cabin decorated for the Christmas Season. You have made this Christmas a special one for my sister and myself. We wanted to have a “Memory” Christmas of doing the holiday with things our family used to do and prepare the foods we used to have. You made that possible and you helped create some new traditions for us. We also greatly enjoyed Stewart and playing “Ball”. Dorann and I both love animals and have pets of our own which we missed. Stewart filled that void while we were here away from our little ones. Enchanting! We enjoyed our Christmas stay.”
Bryan and Jayme from Hillsboro, Oregon
"Thank you for making our anniversary very special. We enjoyed every minute in the cabin. You were incredible hosts and the cabin was so very clean as always. We enjoyed it just a much as last year. We hope to return next year for our 3rd anniversary."
Doug and Jen from Portland, Oregon
"My girlfriend, Jen and I, came here to escape Portland without having to drive for hours. We were celebrating our anniversary and this was the perfect place to spend time together without the distractions. Clean, well kept, with the perfect balance of privacy and having the innkeepers nearby to resupply firwood or what not. Thank you so much for giving us such a great place to celebrate our relationship."
Mark, Navina, Leila and Oren from Vernonia, Oregon
"My family loved staying at the cabin and if we could stay forever we would. Me and my brother found all seven mice"

Kelly and Richard from Norman, Oklahoma and from South Africa
“This has been the romantic weekend of a dream. Crackling wood fireplace, comfy rug, robes, slippers, hot tub, wine…everything a couple could ever want to enhance and escape with each other. The hiking was fabulous as well, great trails close by. Our hosts were friendly, inviting, informative and knew exactly when to be around and when to give us our privacy. The only part that riggled me was the mouse – challenging…we only found six and that last mouse is driving me CRAZY. We’ll simply have to return. The mouse must be found. Plus this place is too good a gem not to return. Thank you for making our short stay wonderful, we’ll definitely return.”
Tim and Sarah from Ridgecrest, California
“It was so nice to meet you all. Thank you so much for your hospitality and willingness to help. This place was the relaxing getaway that we needed as we celebrated our honeymoon. You have an amazingly beautiful and peaceful area. Thanks for being willing to share it. Stewart is really cute and provided fetching fun for all. Thanks also for suggesting “The Riverview Restaurant”. That was amazing food. We will definitely recommend this place to family and friends and we hope to return someday.”
Adelle and Jim from Bedford, Texas
“Thank you for your wonderful hospitality. This cabin has made our first trip to Oregon very special. You helped us find some special places to visit on our short stay. We look forward to returning and visiting more sites. Also, “Stuey” made us feel at home while away. Hope to visit again.”
Tim and Karen from League City, Texas
“First of all, I want to say how you have ruined all other vacations for us. Tim and I are only one day in and are already planning our next visit and it cannot come soon enough. You make us feel so welcome, like we have known you our whole lives. Your genuine, hospitality and outstanding breakfast will keep us coming back time after time. Even though we were only here for a short time the impressions will last a life time. Now if only Tim can find the last two mice… We will miss you and your enchanted gardens, cabin and for forest. I will miss you. Stu and Holly were awesome. Next time we will have to meet Toby…We met Toby (looks just like our Simon) and Tim finally found (with 10mins. to spare) the mythical 7th mouse. Thank you for everything.”
Congratulation on finding all seven mice. Well done.
Robert and Robin from Alanta, Georgia
“Thank you all for such a wonderful little piece of heaven. So much more that websites and pictures can show. Your hospitality and all of the thoughtful touches show how much you care for your guests. We’ve had a great stay and despite daily “touristing” managed to get in quite a bit of rest and relaxation. Stewart is a great ambassador, my hubby is in “love” and now wants a dog. The gardens are glorious, the home cozy, the area fantastic to visit. We definitely hope to get back out here in the future. May God watch over and bless you all.”
Blake and Faye from Richmond, Texas
“Thank you for everything! It has truly been an amazing vacation. We both wish we could stay longer, but work and school awaits us. Unfortunately I took 12 hours this summer and the one week off was mostly spent in this beautiful state. Coni is very helpful; we did not have to use a GPS because she told us where to go for each destination. Unfortunately we were not able to get everything in. That just means we get to come back. Everything about our stay has been wonderful. I can’t wait to come back. So far we have fond six mice with our last night I hope to fine the last. Amazing property and definitely a relaxing get away for the both of us.”
Eric and Linda from Linville, Virginia
“We had an amazing stay in your special cabin. And, your tips and suggestions for things to do were perfect. We spent a day driving along the Oregon Coast and a day driving along the Scenic Highway, pulling off to hike to the falls and enjoy breathtaking views. We loved playing with Stewart and the dog toys scattered throughout the property make us smile and think of home. We are still looking for mouse #7. Thanks for making our trip special. We hope to be back. Found #7 right before we left. Breakfast was spectacular.”
Congratulations on finding all seven mice.
Joe and Sandra from Chico, California

“John and I enjoyed our stay so much. We love the peace and solitude. We could not ask for more. The accommodations were beautiful and so tastefully done, but definitely could not find all the mice. We are planning to come back and just sit for a spell. Thanks for the hints on navigating around the area.”
Jake and Tina from Oregon City, Oregon
Patrick and Gail from Tualatin, Oregon
“Love shows up in your life at unexpected moments. Experiences, people , “moments” follow this “showing up” pattern too. Like this place. If you really connect… you can feel the intention behind the cabin. Terry and Coni have created quite the space + place in which to enjoy…we feel it. This day 1 – arrival day. What a great first day. We hiked, played a lot at Wildwood (one of our favorites). Loved breakfast on the deck at the cabin. So peaceful here. Many walks on the grounds, sitting in the swing watching the butterflies flitter around. Threw the ball for the Scottie dawg, then he hung out while we finished our breakfast. So peaceful. Love the place. Once you pass the gate you enter a little paradise.”
Bryant and Rose from Hillsboro, Oregon

"Maybe Stewert does have all the answers. He lives in peace, chases balls around a beautiful garden which surrounds a cabin full of soft warm dreams flamed by the crackly fire. Fed by sauted garlic waiting for noodles to be dropped in a pot ending up in an incredible meal that feeds this stomach in a body that is so grateful, the only way to show it's gratitude is to throw a slimey green ball over and over as thanks sinks in deep and long."
Ryan and Kristin from Happy Valley, Oregon
"16 th Anniversary! This is our secont time here and we still love it. So peacdful and we love your dog. Went fishing, out to eat and stayed in alot. What a relaxing weekend."

Thank your for a wonderful weekend getaway."

Coni, Terry and Mary Ann Good luck finding that last mouse.
Brandon, Rebecca, Jack and Alexander from Vancouver, Washington
“Wow! What a beautiful cabin in the woods. Your attention to detail is amazing and you have beautiful tastes in décor. Our boys (10 and 12) had so much fun hunting for the seven mice. It was a great way to fill their time and I believe they accomplished the task. You’ll tell us for sure in the morning though. We aren’t far from home (an hour) and yet it feels as if we are. This is a perfect place…just what our little family needs: snow, games, a fire and a puzzle – who could ask for more?”
Bryan and Jayme from Hillsboro, Oregon
“Thank you so much for being such great hosts! We have loved every moment of our getaway for our first anniversary and well-maintained. The fireplace was warm and relaxing and the hot tub was the perfect treat. We had planned a number of daytime adventures, but ended up spending most of our time here relaxing by the fire. We hope to return again soon.”
Congratulations, you found all seven mice.
Erick and Sarah from Beaverton, Oregon
“Thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful cabin for our weekend. I will never forget. We enjoyed every little detail you put into the cabin, especially all the cute mice. We had so many grand plans to go hiking and sightseeing, but instead spent almost all of our time sitting by the fire relaxing and appreciating our weekend escape from the city. This trip was a surprise for me, as you know, and I loved everything here at Hidden Woods. What topped off what I thought was an already perfect weekend here was when Erick proposed in front of the roaring fire in the living room. It was a weekend to remember for the rest of my life. Thank you again for everything. We can’t wait to come back soon. P.S. I said yes!!”
Sandi and Darrell from Oregon City, Oregon

Anne, Martin and Greyson from Clearwater, Florida
“Walking through the ivy laden arch, I knew this was a special place. I was overcome with a feeling I have been here before, a familiar place that resembles home. Greeted by the beautiful gardens and cozy cabin and ushered off to sleep with the gentle calming voice of the Sandy River. A perfect setting to relax and call home base for all the adventures that Mt. Hood has to offer. More important, a special thanks to Coni and Terry for their hospitality and for creating this incredible vacation.”
Len, Betsy, Julia and Sophia from Macomb, Michigan
“It’s so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. We often forget to take a moment to really appreciate the beauty of the world around us. Coming here was the perfect opportunity to step back and really appreciate the history and beauty behind this state. Seeing how different people live here, in comparison to how we live in Michigan has been eye opening. I really enjoyed my time here and look forward to coming back.”
Amanda from Livonia, Michigan
“What a delightful Place! We came to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary and spent four magical days in this wonderful cabin and it’s environs. We really appreciated all of the extra touches to add to our comfort. It was so easy to “just be” here—except for searching for the elusive mice. But…we’re proud to say that we found all seven of them!! It wasn’t easy—and we had plenty of other activities to keep us busy, but it was a fun and challenging diversion. We especially enjoyed meeting Coni & Terry. What spectacular hosts!! Everything was great, the hospitality, the orientation, the host tub, the craftsmanship, the gardens, The “creature” comfort, the activity suggestions… the next time we will definitely do the breakfast ( after reading other’s reviews). A wonderful stay in a wonderful place! Thank you!! “
Monica and Robert, Santa Barbara, California
Congratulations on finding all seven mice. Well done!
"We came here to celebrate 22 years of marriage, just "to be" for awhile. We walked along the river, met Stuart, the Scottie...played "Throw the stick...no wait! That's my stick, not your stick" with a dog on the river trails. This is a great place to be. Enjoyed the time here and we may have only found six mice, but had fun looking".
Kris and Rob from Oakland, Oregon
David and Frances from Lovington, New Mexico
"What a wonderful place for my husband to relax after his hike up Mt. Hood. The hot tub was just perfect place for him. We are from the flat lands of New Mexico, the greenery and moisture were very inviting. Thanks so much."
Bather and Nickolas from Spanaway, Washington
“We would like to jot down a big thanks on your hospitality and accommodations at The Hidden Woods. This place is a charm. We really didn’t feel like exploring out because of how cozy the cabin is, the fire place, Jacuzzi and the deck was a true therapy. Our three nights were fabulous and we managed to walk down to the river and had a small picnic until the rain ruined it. One thing we would like you to consider is adding a dress mirror to the closet upstairs and increase the Wi-Fi strength other than that everything was really appreciated and well coordinated. Thanks and looking forward to more getaways.”
Thank you for the suggestions. The Wi-Fi has been a problem, we're working on it and the mirror. We'll go shopping for one.
Peter, Tara and Rowan (little) from Edmonton, AB, Canada
“A big thank you for all your help during our short three-day stay. We consider ourselves lucky that you had an opening for us on short notice. The property and home are both lovely and although it was very tempting to just lounge around and relax, we did explore the area of Portland, Mt. Hood and followed some of Coni’s recommendations. We will remember this place fondly and hope to return again soon. Unfortunately we had no time for mouse hunting.”
Ruth, Carol, Justine, and Margie from Gresham, Oregon
"What a delight to stay in this cozy cabin and wake up to so much greenery and a blue sky. so many unique furnishings and fun puzzles. Thank you for all your hospitality."
Sonny and Justin form Hubbard, Oregon
“What an amazing place. We were so incredibly content on our stay. You have put so much work into providing a peaceful and restful getaway. No detail has been overlooked to provide comfort for your guests. My husband felt right at home, so much, that it was difficult to get him ready to leave. It reminded him of his home State of Wyoming. What a blessing this place is. Thank you so much for your hospitality. We will definitely be returning. Finding all seven mice was my mission for the weekend, but sadly only found five. I’ll be back to find the other two. Many Blessings to all of you, The “Christian Mingle.com” couple.”
Cliff and Suzanne from Camas, Washington

“What an amazing place you have here and such beautiful people that own it. First night here and we were delivered hot apple bread along with whipped cream and marshmallows for later. Deb and I came here to celebrate my birthday and our engagement anniversary. At Deb’s request, Coni put a balloon and banner up for me. This is our first time at the cabin but will definitely be back soon. The cabin, hot tub, fireplace and beautiful scenery are exactly what we needed. Thank you for having such a wonderful space to share with the world and we found all seven mice within the first 24 hours. Woot woot!!! Much love and gratitude, Jennifer.”

I love finding the mice and the critters and mice and exploring the property. The hot tub was amazing and super clean. The house was very cozy and I could relax very easily in it. My sister and I would go out and explore so much and Stewart was so much fun to play with. I loved him so, so much, and now I want a puppy just like him"

“Thank you very much for being such wonderful hosts for our nearly four day Christmas Vacation. We’ve never felt so wonderfully Christmassy. This was our first visit to HiddenWoods/Alder Creek Cabin and we are delighted to have found you. Speaking of finding things, I found six of the mouse tableaux; Nancy found five. We are looking forward to find the missing mice/mouse in the future. Also, best regards to Holly and my new best friend Stewart. Stewart is a great fetcher. May you have happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.”
Debi, Dana, Andy and Paul from Beaverton, Oregon
“As much as we enjoyed ourselves last spring, this Christmas visit to the cabin was a real treat. The decorations were beautiful; we felt like we were staying at Santa’s Workshop. The attention to detail was clever, we got a kick out of the red furry bath robes with the matching Santa Hats that warms us to the hot tub and the hot tub was heavenly. Stewart looked cute in his raincoat and kept us company. The fireplace was cozy, the claw foot bathtub comfy and the Douglas Firs Lordy and Green. We’ll be thinking of you in the New Year keeping your guest happy and hope to return soon. Happy New Year!”

Michelle and Keith from Calgary, Alberta
“Relaxation and comfort take over when you walk in the front door. This place is so peaceful. This is our 2nd visit. We drove 13 ½ hours just for this place and I hate leaving each time and will not be our last visit. We very much enjoyed your breakfast and it is always very nice talking with you guys. I’m sure you know how wonderful this is but I will tell you again. We had an amazing time here and looking for those mice is pretty fun. May Ann, your story at breakfast will be remembered. See you again next time.”

It t was like stepping back in time and truly felt like we were home. Someday we would love to build a place like this of our own and be as much of a blessing to other people as you have been to us. What you have here is very special. We will definitely be back. You both will be in our prayers for amazing health and continual favor. Thanks for everything. Lots of love.”

“This was a lovely stay. The beauty of the quiet green woods, the enchanting cabin, the warming hot tub and the Sandy River rushing in the background. It was all very relaxing and enjoyable. The place is wonderful for a couple’s time away or a family. We’d like to bring the kids with us sometime. The Rendezvous Grill and the Mallards Cafe were fabulous places to eat. The Rendezvous Crisp Dessert was amazing so we had to get it both nights. Thank you for your kind hospitality.”
P.S. “Thank you for the delicious scones.”

“We had such a wonderful “girls weekend” here – I’m so glad we came here. Looking for mice was fun during our lazy day around the cabin and hiking to Ramona Falls was breath taking. So Many little touches make staying here special – bath robes especially. Thank you again for all your suggestions on local sights, the world’s largest bear is awesome.”
Rachel and Greg from Portland, Oregon
“We are celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and twenty years of friendship this weekend. Already feeling relaxed and refreshed after a stroll to the river and hours of soaking in the awesome hot tub. Greg is obsessively looking for three more mice. Slept in till eleven for first time in eight years and ready for a hike to Ramona Falls then a stop at Timberline Lodge. This little cabin surrounded by gardens, water and trees is a gem. Great attention to detail and wonderful hospitality. Just what we needed. Thank you."
Patti and Roger from Tucson, Arizona
“Coni, Terry, Mary Ann, Stewart, and Holly. Many thanks for an incredible stay at your bed and breakfast/cabin. After not finding any “portrait mice” the first night I was determined to not rest again until all sever were found. Roger voiced no interest in the mouse endeavour, so I was on my own. With the aid of a flashlight I found seven of the buggers. Other than mice hunting, the cabin and hot tub were great, breakfast super fresh and tasty and the company with suggestions of trips was spot on. Many thanks and hoping to repeat a stay, possibly in the winter next. Correction entry 8/22 leaving Alder Creek – I only initially found five mice - found one more for total of six out of seven…..perhaps on the next visit.”
Rodney, Doris and Sara from Meridian, Idaho
"What a wonderful week, we had so much fun while staying here. It is just paradise! We found all seven mice by 11:04 am the first morning here. It was quite the challenge. but we loved it. Cannot wait to visit again and find them all over again. Coni your breakfast is the best and you and Terry were wonderful to talk with. We enjoyed the walk to the river, the hot tub and relaxing on the patio, but most of all we enjoyed Stewart. What a sweetheart, we will miss him. Thank you again for making us feel at home, you're wonderful people and we cannot wait to return."
Stu and Stacey from Calgary, Alberta
"Thank you for the wonderful few days that we spent here, I only wish it could have been more. We really appriciated your knowledge of the area and the sights because it truly helped us see some very beautiful scenry. Found six of seven mice.
Maria and Dan from San Diego, California
“What we did: relaxed, used the hot tub, soaked in big bath tub, fished, caught up on reading, ate very well, went to Washougal for motocross, slept great listening to the sounds of the river, found seven mice and played with Stewart. We had a fantastic time in your beautiful cabin. The nature décor sprinkled with antiques, puzzles and games were entertaining in itself. Even though we didn’t catch any fish down back, the scenery made up for it. Now as for finding all seven mice…….we did wish Stewart was the take home prize, we do understand. We’ll be seeing you next year and thank you so much for sharing this beautiful little retreat with us.”
Devin, Jennifer, Kailin, Karli and Trent from Olympia, Washington

On February 24th, Matthew asked me to be his wife and I gladly accepted. Maybe there’s some kind of magic here. I noticed another couple recently got engaged here. This was such a wonderful place, with a much needed vacation for us. We also enjoyed meeting Stuart and engaging Matthew in a never ending fetch game. Thank you again.”
Jeremiah and Shonda form Hillsboro, Oregon
“Three years ago my husband planned a, birthday surprise, trip to Alder Creek Cabin. I decided to surprise him for Valentine’s Day. We enjoyed our time so much we had to come back. We had planned to leave and snowshoe, but we decided to become hermits for the weekend. We stayed at another cabin in the Mt. Hood Area, last year, and we decided this was the best. It is a quaint, cozy cabin. When people are looking for a cabin we will direct them here. I finished the Victorian house puzzle in a few hours, but the frog one I’ve attempted all weekend. We also finished the numbers game. You guys do a great job. The pizza was great and close too.”
Lacey and Cory from Longview, Washington
“What a lovely place to come and enjoy our anniversary weekend. It was so nice to come and relax after a busy day playing on the mountain. The grounds are gorgeous, the cabin had beautiful décor and the hot tub was crystal clear. We were able to find five mice and Cory solved the Victorian Puzzle. Next time we will get the last two mice and the Frog Puzzle. Thank you Coni and Terry for a wonderful weekend. P.S. Can’t forget about Stuart. What a friendly and sweet dog you have.”
Sean and Bethany from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
“Thank you both so incredibly much for foregoing a few nights off and welcoming us into you peaceful cabin. You really helped us out of a jam and we are very grateful for this. As for the cabin…well…we go up to the Poconos (Pennsylvania Mountains) several times a year and have never experienced a place that so perfectly captures a “Mountain Getaway” like this. A full day of snow-shoeing, followed by cold beers in a steamy hot tub, capped off with hours of conversation (and more beer) by a roaring fire… what more could we ask for? This place is a gem and we hope to make it back sometime soon. Puzzles: we found all seven mice and completed the frog scramble, but the house scramble made my head spin! Pennsylvania Challenge: find all 4,762 bears in and around the house! We’ll save this for next time!”
Craig and Cathie from Vancouver, Washington
“Perfect!!! This place is exactly what we were looking for. We are totally in love with this cabin and will definitely be coming back. “What a find. The cabin is adorable, the setting magnificent and the owners friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a soak in the hot tub after hiking to Tamanawas Falls, a game of fetch with Stewart in the morning and a glass of wine beside a roaring fire. The only downside, the bed is so comfortable we were tempted to stay in bed all day and would have missed out on all of those things. A true gem amongst the trees. We are looking forward to returning for an extended stay. Many thanks.”
Claudia, Bill and Olivia from Willington, Florida
“Thank you so much for everything. I only wish we could have stayed longer. And that my seventeen your old daughter had not got lost a mere 100 yards from the house. Thank heaven for GPS on cell phones. I can’t believe I have to turn her loose next year, but coming out here to visit the colleges she is interested in at least reassured me she is going to be going to school in a beautiful area. And I know I will always have a great place to stay with wonderful hosts when I come out to visit her. Thank heaven for GPS on cell phones. Thanks so much for everything.”

Thank you for helping create such memorable day for us. We will be back. Six of seven mice. Rats!”
"Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful blessing of a cabin. Such a delightful place and so very hospitable. Loved the ambience of this little home decorated to a “T” and perfectly homey. Wish we could stay longer, but looking forward to coming back. The mice game was icing on the cake and I felt like we were in a fairy tale cabin where the three bears live.”
Matt and Jill from Gresham, Oregon
"Thank you for the wonderful cabin. We both loved the relaxing atmosphere. After a long day at our wedding this was a great stop. Mt. Hood was amazing and after hiking, the hot tub was amazing. We solved all the puzzles but two and completed both scramble squares. We did not find all of the mice, but that is okay because now we have a great excuse to come back."

“Alder Creek Cabin is an invitation to rest and play. Everywhere the eye turns there is something to delight. We toured far less than we planned, preferring the sound of the river, the cool gardens and the beauty of the cabin. We enjoyed the hunt for the mice. We found six and tried to get Stuart to reveal the location of the seventh but he was silent on the subject. Thank you Coni and Terry for the perfect second honeymoon setting.”
Lorraine, Teri and Robin from Oregon, Washington and Montana
"Another wonderful weekend at Alder Creek Cabin. We solved the mouse game last year and this year Lorraine solved The Victorian Houses Puzzle. We'll have to stay here again next year to solve the Frog Puzzle."

“Wow!! The cabin is like a fairy tale or a scene in a movie. The fire was awesome and the hot tub divine. We really don’t want to leave but places to see and things to do. Mice to be confirmed of course. It’s too romantic for two chicks on the road, hopefully next time we’ll bring our men.”

“Thank you for sharing your lovely cabin with us for our 10 year anniversary. The cabin was very cozy and nicely decorated with all the amenities of home. Just what we needed for a nice weekend away from the real world. There was plenty to do in the cabin to keep us entertained, not to mention the relaxing hot tub. We will definitely be back again and I think we found all 7 mice but not sure.”
You found six, one to go.
Camas and Andrew from Portland, Oregon
“This was exactly what we needed. Thank you for everything. We’re better for it all. Alas we thought we found 7 mice but Coni informed us we only found 4. So many puzzles so little time. Thanks again for sharing this amazing place with us.”
Kim and Ryan from Portland, Oregon
“What an amazing cabin. A much needed vacation and the best place to be for a birthday. Thank you for creating such a wonderful space. We loved sitting in the hot tub after skiing and sledding. We enjoyed the fire place and the games were great and having coffee with your adorable Scottie Dogs was the best. Alas we only found 6 mice but I would like to spend my next birthday here. Look forward to finding the 7th next year. We stand corrected, we only found 5!!! 2 left to find next year.”

“Wow. This place was even better that we imagined. A great Place to celebrate my girlfriends successful thesis defense and to rejuvenate before heading back into the world after a holiday. It was just the right amount of time and space to feel rested. Thank you to our hosts for taking care of us and sharing their wonderful cabin. The Scotties and hot tub were added bonuses which brightened our days and we look forward to coming back in the future.”
Jordan and Jimmy from Astoria, Oregon
Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality. From the moment we arrived we felt at home. Everything here was to the tee, we couldn't have asked for more. We watched movies, played games, went hiking and snow tubing and then came back to the hot tub and cooked a meal here. We are sad to leave and also puzzled on the mice. A few logs back, someone suggested hints for next time - we agree. This was our first time here and Coni was so helpful with giving us ideas for things to do around here, whether it be good hiking trails or just a great place to grab a bite to eat. We will be back!

"We came to Hidden Woods at Aldercreek to escape and go "off the grid" for two days and we could not have
picked a better place. This cabin is what everyone must envision when they think of getting a place in the woods.
Everthing was fantastic, although we only found six mice and two bunnies."
Jim and Kim from Keizer, Oregon
"What a wonderful place to spend our 29th Anniversary. The grounds and cabin are just amazing.
So relaxing and enjoyable. Peaceful and a nice get away from it all. Each day it seems like we would
discover something different in the cabin. Our last night Jim just discovered the Peeing Scottie.
Haven't found all 7 mice as of yet so we will have to try within our next few hours a little harder before we leave."
Cindi and Bob from Portland, Oregon
"For those of you seeking an escape from the hectic pace of today"s
everyday world, look no further than this endlessly charming log cabin.
My husband an I have just returned from four simply perfect days of bliss,
tucked up in a snug and homey log cabin that harkens back to a simpler time. "

A very long way from home and so delighted with such a wonderful cottage in the woods. Just like a fairytale. Matt and I leaving early so relying on Greg to find the elusive 7th mouse. Everything we could need here and definitely planning a return visit. We will share our discovery of this little piece of heaven with all our Aussie Friends and Family. Thanks again.

Only an hour from home but such a relaxing retreat from the real world. We were hoping for a weekend of skiing and snowshoeing but four ourselves in a rainstorm, even up at Timberline. No matter, it made the cozy atmosphere of the cabin that much more inviting and relaxing. I can’t remember the last time I felt so calm after a weekend. Thank you for making us feel at home and for working hard to maintain this place. We loved it.

Enjoyed my 45th birthday here with friends. Great relaxing place. Loved the hot tub after a full day of hiking. Roaring fire at night and pleasant sleep. Definitely an amazing place that gave me wonderful memories of the west coast.
