Discover Alder Creek Cabin
Historic Alder Creek Cabin, nestled in the foothills of the Mt. Hood Scenic Area, was established as a vacation retreat with your comfort in mind. We want you to feel at home, assuming home is a cozy restored Steiner log cabin above the Sandy River. You will be immersed in a towering Douglas fir forest and gardens featuring other northwest native plants, a trout pond, and ample places to unwind.
Spa amenities have been added over the years to enhance your enjoyment of this private, peaceful setting. The sauna was built in 2020. In fact, you can now book your own professional therapeutic massage, outside on one of the decks or upstairs in the cabin.
Alder Creek Cabin offers immediate access to the Sandy River, use of the varied, intimate gardens surrounding the cabin, two adjoining decks including a fire pit (wood provided), and a full kitchen. When you’re in the mood to wander further afield, your hosts will provide concierge service and brochures suggesting local sites and activities. Our guests appreciate the Cabin’s proximity to all Mt. Hood has to offer, including quick jaunts to engaging mountain towns such as Zigzag, Rhododendron, and Government Camp. You’re just a few minutes more away from golfing, skiing and snowboarding, birding and biking, hiking, and boating.
There are even snowshoes on the front porch of the Cabin for creating your own backwoods winter adventure!
